Review of our recent events, with pictures on our website
On December 5th Samichlaus met over 30 children at Garden Hills. They also enjoyed the kids table where they were able to color, do some crafts or just play with some toys! We also got to enjoy a delicious bowl of “Gerstensuppe” (barley soup) prepared by your board. Thanks go out to all the helpers and “Elves” for making it a successful and cozy evening. A special thanks goes to Hermann Gammeter for his donation of $100 to the Samichlaus event!
Samichlaus will meet our children again December 4th 2010 at Garden Hills.
On December 12th over 50 members and guests enjoyed a wonderful evening at Laurel Springs Golf Club at our Christmas Dinner. Christmas carols were enjoyed and for the first time we were able to listen to a Christmas story read by Adriana Mettler and Anita Akerman.
2010: we are thinking of reserving the location again, but are open to any suggestions for a different location; please contact the board if you have any.
On January 16th our “Mami & Kind” group met at the home of Family Carlson to celebrate a belated “Dreikönigstag”. Jolanda Walther baked the traditional cake for everybody to enjoy, while the kids (with the help from the Mom’s) created and decorated a crown. Check online at www.sasatlanta.org for the upcoming event in March.
Upcoming events
Fondue Party Saturday February 20th, 6-10pm
We are ready for our Fondue event on Feb 20th (see enclosed invitation). Due to the limited seating situation at this location we encourage you to register on time (by Feb. 12th).
General Assembly March 14th, 9.30am
We will meet for a brunch again at the Marietta Conference Center (same location as for the 2009 meeting, official invitation will follow).
We like to let our members know that anyone interested to join the board is welcome to let us know so we can make sure they are being presented for election on our General Assembly. Of course the floor is also open to anyone wanting to be elected at the meeting itself, but we thought it might be nice for members not able to attend to know who is up for election and might use the proxy to cast their vote.
New Members Welcome!
Our club has grown a bit over the past months and we like you to join us in welcoming the following members:
Mr. & Mrs. Steiger from Roswell, Michael Gottschalk from Alpharetta, Family Golden McGirt from Decatur, Patrick Vonlanthen from Atlanta and Stefan Gertsch from Memphis TN. We have had the pleasure to already meet some of you, but look forward to meet everybody else on one of our upcoming events.
As always, on behalf of the board I like to thank everybody that volunteers their time to make these events a success and being around to help wherever there is need…even if it is as little as suggesting a location to be possibly considered or putting a table into storage after an event is over… as well as all my board members for their work throughout the past year.
Until soon on behalf of the board
Tanja Alemañy
