Dear members and friends of the SAS of Atlanta,
What a great August 1st celebration it was. We celebrated our National Holiday for the 3rd time at the Church Bridge to Grace in Roswell. 98 members, guests and children were present and got to taste some great Cervelats, Bratwursts and for the first time Fleischkaese from our butcher Wienerz (Owner Enrico Gamma). Our Swiss Consul General Claudio Leoncavallo and his wife sponsored the Swiss Wine for the apero. After a few speeches the wonderful buffet was opened. Ed Mikulcik prepared 15lbs of his great potato salad, Thanks again! All the board members and many volunteers need to be thanked for making this another successful event!
Spring picnic
On May 22nd we decided to meet at Stone Mountain Park, even though the weather looked unclear. Toni met with Stefan, Jim and Devon and their guests to hike up and down “the Mountain”. Everybody else met up at the picnic place. Due to weather and things coming up, nobody rode up to meet the hikers. We got a nice covered spot, since it was very muggy! After the hikers came back we enjoyed some grilled sausages for our late lunch. Several horseshoe games were played by the adults, while the kids played soccer and “baby golf”. There were 21 adults and 7 children attending. We are sure glad we did not reserve a pavilion for $450!
Mom & Kids group
On May 15th we had our recent gathering at Sims Lake Park in Suwanee. Papi Guido and Papi Markus were grilling us some sausages, while all the Mom’s brought along some goodies for everybody to share. We all walked and biked around the lake, and afterwards enjoyed some bites. Jolanda told the kids a story which is always enjoyed by them. It was a great day! On July 24th we held our pool party in Lawrenceville (neighborhood pool of Jolanda Walther). It was nice to be able to cool off and enjoy great sandwiches (sponsored by Jolanda and Guido Walther) along with many goodies from all the other families. Our next outing will be on September 11th hosted by Tanja Alemany at the lake or her home incase of bad weather.
