Dear SAS Members
At our Serata Ticinese in October we celebrated the Italian part of Switzerland with authentic food and music. The evening was a big success, and we are planning to have a similar event next fall, highlighting another area of Switzerland.
Several Club Members took the opportunity to listen to Switzerland’s former President Mr. Adolf Ogi at the Opening of the International Summit on “Effecting Social Change through Women’s Leadership in Sport” and at a luncheon hosted by the Atlanta Council on International Relations. Mr. Ogi talked enthusiastically about the role of sport in resolving pressing issues in the world and about his activities as Special Advisor to the Secretary General of the United Nations. He certainly is the right man for this job!
Upcoming events
- With this Update you receive the invitations to our Christmas Party as well as for the Afternoon with Samichlaus. Since Samichlaus will pay his visit to the children the day of the Christmas Market at the International School we planned the event in Buckhead. The Garden Hills Park is within walking distance to the International School. We hope this will give families the chance to enjoy the atmosphere of the Market and of course to have some Raclette at the Swiss booth.
- The big fundraiser for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, “Festival of Trees”, is held from December 3 to 11 at the World Congress Center. The Swiss Club will have a Swiss-style Christmas Tree on display. Be sure to visit this festive exhibition to support a worthy cause.

Membership Directory
The actual Membership Directory, containing the names and contact information of our Members who agreed to be listed, available. You can order it from any Board Member, preferentially over the internet.
What do our Members have to offer?
Do you sell real estate? Do you custom design jewelry? Are you an expert in financial services? Do you import goodies from Switzerland? Do you own a shop, offer classes, or are you an artist?
Initiated by a request from a Club Member the Board discussed ideas to spread the word about services or products, offered by our Members. We will refrain from sending out flyers or other advertisements, but we think it would certainly be interesting to know what our Members have to offer. So we intend to compile a list of services and products available.
If you would like to have your services / products listed please send us a brief description (no more than 100 words), a website if applicable, and your contact information.
We are looking forward to providing this new platform and we hope it is in the best interest of all our Members – let’s give it a try!
SAS Board Members 2005/06
Step forward and join us!
With Board Members relocating due to new job assignments we need new people in our crew. Remember, this is your Club, and it can only function as long as we have members willing to fill the positions on the Board. By the way, joining the Board is not only a great way to get involved with the Club and its members but also to work and have fun with good friends who are very supportive.
So if you can picture yourself serving the Club in a rewarding way please contact me or any Member of the Board – thank you for considering it!
